Auditor General appointment
Applications are open for the post of Auditor General for Scotland (AGS). The Scottish Parliament is looking to fill the position in Spring 2012, following the retirement of the current AGS, Robert Black. Central Scotland Fire & Rescue service is effective but further improvement needed to provide Best Value

Central Fire & Rescue provides an effective, low cost service but would be better placed to provide Best Value if it had stronger performance arrangements. It needs to develop a culture of continuous improvement, and the board should be more proactive in its scrutiny.
