Celebrating International Women's Day

Today at Audit Scotland we’re proud to be celebrating International Women’s Day 2018. It’s a time to celebrate the achievements of women worldwide as well as recognising the progress on gender equality that’s still to be made.

What the day means to us

Below Auditor General for Scotland, Caroline Gardner and Diane McGiffen, Chief Operating Officer, tell us what the day means to them, and see how our colleagues are celebrating the day.

Caroline Gardner, Auditor General for Scotland, said:

“I’m really proud that on International Women’s Day 2018 Audit Scotland’s workforce is gender balanced at every level. Over half our workforce is made up of women, and in the Year of Young People I’m delighted that we have a 50/50 representation of male and female trainees. I can only begin to imagine how our trainees will help shape and transform the world of work and much more besides. Every woman knows that there are still lots of challenges facing us in the workplace and in society as a whole – that’s why it’s so important that all of us, men and women together, continue to push for progress and support equality for everyone.”
