Publication: How are we doing? - Measuring the performance of community safety partnerships

by Accounts Commission

This bulletin is a follow-up to Safe and sound, a report on community safety partnerships in Scotland which found that community safety strategies are generally at an early stage of development, and most partnerships have still to develop measures to track their progress. This bulletin provides practical guidance for community safety partnerships on performance measurement, using four different perspectives of effectiveness - impact on the community, external processes, partnership management and improvement, and use of resources. The bulletin includes a selection of indicators, within each of these perspectives, as a starting point for partnerships to develop their own measures of performance. Using the published indicators will enable partnerships to compare their performance with others who have similar strategic objectives.
