Publication: National Health Service bodies in Tayside

by Auditor General

In this report into the problems facing the health service in Tayside, the Auditor General, Robert Black, has highlighted the need for careful management and monitoring of financial recovery plans. He acknowledges that Tayside health service bodies inherited a range of difficulties beyond their control, and recognises that they are taking steps to address areas of concern. These include establishing a joint management group and the drawing up of financial recovery plans. However, the Auditor General sounds a warning that a great deal of work has yet to be done to ensure that the Tayside health bodies meet their targets for financial recovery.
