Annual reports for 2008/09 now available for Audit Scotland and the Accounts Commission

The Audit Scotland annual report sets out our progress under each of our three corporate priorities:

  • supporting effective democratic scrutiny
  • maximising the value of the audit
  • building an efficient and effective organisation.

During 2008/09, on behalf of the Auditor General and the Accounts Commission, Audit Scotland was responsible for the audit of 210 public bodies and over £31 billion of public expenditure. We also made significant progress in delivering an audit regime that is valued by audited bodies, stakeholders and service users.

The reports reflect the various achievements of both bodies over the year as well as summarising the body of work Audit Scotland produced in 2008/09.

The audited accounts of Audit Scotland are also available here on our website.
